What do you love most about working in public relations?
I get a thrill from managing multiple projects at once – prioritizing tasks, managing competing deadlines, juggling responsibilities. I also love that I get to wear so many hats; sometimes I’m the strategist, other times I’m the logistics manager or even the photographer. My brain thrives off being constantly engaged.
What has been a highlight in your career so far?
Working with and representing Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin. It was an honor to support them during such a difficult time for them personally and a historic time for us nationally.
What has been one of your favorite campaigns to work on?
There are so many! A personal favorite was a campaign promoting the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s actor training on Rikers Island, a deeply impactful program that brought movement, dance and writing classes to incarcerated women. The campaign required so much thoughtfulness, diligence and attention to detail. We secured a phenomenal piece in the Associated Press and our positive press coverage led to a full-time arts liaison being hired at Rikers.
What show and/or movie have you recently seen that you would recommend?
Ted Lasso or Avatar: The Last Airbender (a favorite comfort watch).
What’s your favorite quote?
I don’t have a singular favorite quote but do love this sentiment from Maya Angelou: “This is a wonderful day. I’ve never seen this one before.”
