More Shelters Make Room for Four-Legged Friends

The New York Times reports on a growing number of homeless shelters making room for residents’ pets. Urban Resource Institute, which has run its People and Animals Living Safely (PALS) program in domestic violence shelters since 2013, is a pioneer of the approach. It now operates pet-friendly shelters across New York City.
